JAROD VILLALON
Jarod Villalon (born in 2000 in Fort Worth, TX, and lives in Dallas, TX) is a visual and conceptual photographer whose work is centered around dream-like imagery, surrealism, and long exposure/nocturnal photographs.
Jarod graduated from The University of North Texas in May 2022, he is currently a Gallery Coordinator at Dallas College in Dallas, Texas. assisting in curating, installing, and documenting exhibitions on all of Dallas College's campuses.
Jarod is a first-generation college graduate, an artist, and an advocate for equitable access to visual and performing art.
In his role at Dallas College, he helps coordinate over 28+ exhibitions a year at 7+ locations across Dallas County and helps manage Dallas College's expanding permanent art collection. As a Gallery Coordinator, he has been able to share talent, tropes, and human experiences with students through art exhibitions on all Dallas College campuses, as well as provide opportunities for professional development to art students by facilitating multiple student exhibitions each semester. Additionally, he has attained community partner prospects, garnered interest in the art programs at Dallas College, and emphasized some of the rich history of each campus and its art collection through social media.
Serving Dallas County's students and community through the galleries at Dallas College is a unique and exciting experience because our goal is not to make a profit but to leave a lasting impact that our students will take with them on the rest of their journey.
